Welcome! I am glad that you found me among all of these electrons.
I assume that you are here because you love music and musical instruments as much as I do.
I have loved music all my life: the sound of the human voice, the sound of a felt hammer hitting a piano string, the grinding geared sound of a note on a music box as it slows to a stop. Somehow, I found my way here. I am a singer, a songwriter, a guitar player, a mandolin picker, a trumpeter, a "harpoon-ist," a dabbler. But, since about 1990, I have been enthralled by stringed instrument building: I am a LUTHIER!
I had the good fortune of knowing "Mac" McCormick, an extraordinary self-reliant instrument builder of rare skill and knowledge. Mac was more father than friend, and he was a prized mentor, and consultant, until he died in 2007. I am honored to carry on the tradition and legacy of finely handcrafted acoustic instruments.
My shop is where I live, and I love to live in the country, cos that's where the trees are!
I am located just a short 1 hour and 15 minute drive south of Atlanta airport. Even though visits are strictly by appointment, I would love to meet you and show you what I can do for you.
